Day One Sunday, April 13, 2025
We had to get up at 2:00AM to catch our flight, the airport is an hour away.
We don?t usually fly on Sundays, the TSA lines were short. Our flight wasn?t packed, we?d booked main cabin but got bumped to 1st class on the short flight to Minneapolis.
Sunday came through again on our main flight to Mo Bay and we got bumped into first class. The main cabin was half full at most. My bride is an experienced traveler and had filled out our entrance papers online. We breezed through Sanger in less than 20 minutes. Our only hang up was waiting at the luggage carousel.
As soon as we cleared the building we saw Michael (Michael?s On Time Taxi). Sunday traffic was minimal and we went through Mo-bay like butter. We made two stops on the way to our hotel.
Outside of Green Island we stopped at Bigga?s for jerk chicken. We had sorrels with ours, Michael had a wata. There were cats milling around our feet deftly intercepting any chicken falling from the table. 3 orders, two beers and a wata: $42US.
Our second stop was the Scotiabank ATM on the beach. There was no queue. $15000 JA (about $95 US) cost us $99US and change. The west end road was in much better shape than last year. I don?t recall dodging a single pothole and didn?t see any water trucks climbing up the cliffs.
Have to stop to charge the phone, more later . . .
