I'm not much of a writer, but if you wouldn't mind me sharing.
I feel like I'm in a never ending whirlwind. My brother passed away a few months ago and that, of course, was easier to deal with logistically.
I wanted to share this on Negril.com, so you can know how amazing this community can be. Also, for anyone considering moving to Negril or staying long term, when something difficult happens, you know you're not alone. I can be super stubborn about asking for help and so many have kindly reminded me that's stupid 🥲 and I'm not alone.
Not everything is perfect, as I've certainly have never navigated through this before, but damn, so many of our friends have stepped up in a big way. I won't go into detail as some of it's a bit sensitive, but what they've done hasn't been easy.
Rob and I have three spoiled pets; two dogs and an indoor cat that were on their own for just over week. One of our beautiful neighbours, found our cat and made sure they were all safe. He fed them and constantly updated me on how they were doing without my asking and without asking for anything. Please go visit him at Sunshine Plaza wine bar...what an incredible young man.
All this was huge, as I'm attempting to ship all three of our 'babies' to Canada...amazingly difficult! But again, another great community of 'angels' in pet rescue are generously guiding me through.
I haven't gone out too much yet, as I'm cleaning/packing the house up. When I have ventured, the outpouring of Love is wonderfully overwhelming. I'm (obviously) older and it really breaks me when a grown ass man cries. Rob had some really, really good friends here and from foreign.
I'm looking forward to getting out more after things are more settled and just staring at that beautiful sea!
The community is planning a memorial soon and sadly, it's me that's been putting the brakes on the decision of when and where. I think I've got it together somewhat and I'll be able to let everyone know soon what's happening.
Thank you All again for the kind messages and calls. The love shared would mean everything to Rob...it's exactly how he saw the visitors that truly fall in love with Negril and the Negril people❣️
**And, whomever brought Rob 'Skyline chili' in a can....wth!? I had a moment alone and decided to try it, along with a Red Stripe to quietly honour Rob. I'll just say...what an interesting taste. 😃
