Air Jamaica? the good old days!

I was cleaning out some folders and came across my old air Jamaica 7 heaven rewards card! We used to only fly air Jamaica from JFK to MBJ! It was the BEST! First class was amazing with those champagne flights! Those were the good old days once you know you know?

1st time flying Air Jamaica was back in 1976 ~ in-flight fashion shows & rum punch

We once flew AirJam overnight from LAX. Lionel Richie was on our flight. Great fashion show and meal then lights out. In the morning they served us breakfast before we landed at about 10 a.m. local time.

That's when they would let us off the plane on the tarmac. The ride to Negril after that was always an experience.

The champagne, fashion show and the flight attendant with the two cans of bug spray (probably DDT) spraying down the aisle before landing. All great memories!!

Oh the memories with Air Jamaica......

1st time was in 1992, walked across the tarmac after de-boarding the jet via stairs...
Singers, Dancers & Musicians in the terminal lobby....
The OLD ROAD to Negril with the Ganga Bridge...

JohnNYC and VVHT brought back memories. I miss deplaning to the tarmac. Ahhh...that first whiff of the sweet Jamaican air and the feel of the humidity when you hit the top of the stairs. That's when I knew the vacation began. Now, it's almost torturous having to wait until you get out to the taxi stands to get that feeling. lol

Back in the Day......In flying out of O'Hare the flight would depart at 6 am.......We would be on the Beach in Negril before noon.......Early get up but it was well worth it....
