I've been taking a 4-cup coffeemaker in my carryon. I always leave it with either a maid or anyone who needs one. I also bring extra filters since the small ones are harder to find in Jamaica. I can always find a coffeemaker for around $14 to $20 at Walmart or any other discount store. They don't take up much space if you take them out of the carton. I wrap a towel around the carafe to give it some extra protection.
On the way from the airport we pick up ground Blue Mountain coffee and Sangsters rum cream.
Marley9808, I totally agree with you on the Mountain Peak instant coffee. That's what we used on our very first trip to Jamaica in 1990. It was surprisingly good.

    French Press?

If the room has a kitchenette, a french press coffee maker could be an option. You can get an unbreakable one or insulated mugs with a press built in. Here are a couple of examples:

Good luck with the emails and enjoy your trip!
