Flew Spirit out of Ft. Lauderdale left a 1/2 hour late at 11am on 11/30. Clive met me at airport on time as always. Actually had Clive as driver been using his service for a number of years, this is the first time I had met Clive. We knew a lot of the same people including Barry were I stay he taught Barry in school and I have known Barry since he was a teen. Stopped at Biggas in Green Island for some chicken as always, I think it is the best I ever ate. My room was ready. Went to the beach it was very windy, the water was very high, you had to walk in the water by Yellow Bird in 33 years never had to do that there. My friend Marsha came from home around 5. We went to Sweet Spot around 7 for dinner it was ok but not the bargain it was the last 2 years. Then to Shamrock for oj and supplies to room.
The next day was still windy, so we went to Silver Spring so she could do some things at her old house. Had dinner at Coconut Int. which was great as always.
Friday was much less wind, beach much wider. My usual day, walk beach find a spot with good music, sun and swim. Patty for lunch. Went to Surf and Talk to check e-mail then back to beach. Went to Sprats party at Da Bar, I really wanted to thank Jackie for the great photos she keeps posting over the years. Also met in person CaptainD who I had talked to but never met we had some of the same friends from the 80s. Also met Rob and others I am not good at remembering names.
Sat. ran some sprints could really run my usual run on the beach because of water level. Hung at the beach at Enjoy the Vibes by Roots Bamboo, bought a CD he was playing. We had dinner at Bar b Barn very good.
Sunday did my long walk,every year I walk to Point Village from Barrys to see how things have changed. Noticed 2 places Margaritaville and the Boardwalk had the Sunday ticket for football so when the Ravens game wasn't on CBS in the room at 4 took a route taxi the the Boardwalk to watch the Raven beat up on the Browns. I lived in Baltimore for 37 years after college before moving to Ft. Myers in 2005. After game took route taxi back to Barrys. We went to Coconut Int. for dinner.
Monday did my sprints, beach the usual. We walked to Canoe for dinner it was great much better then in August. Walked to Hi-Low for supplies taxi back to Barrys. Went to show at Coral Seas Garden, small crowd, no vibe.
Tuesday went out to Mango Hall to Marshas house by route taxi, she cooked outside while she worked garden and yard. Around 6 we took a route taxi back Negril. It was a very scary ride, he was one of those who drive with their d--k.
Wed. Beach sprints. Went to a new place to me for dinner Fansos on the road in front of Barrys. It was fantastic good food low price very nice humble man. Went to Roots Bamboo as always great NEGRIL VIBE.
Thursday beach in morning rain in afternoon. Coconut Int. for dinner there was a lobster special for 1700 j big lobster excellent.
Friday sprints beach. Fansos for dinner.
Sat. Marsha wanted to take the long walk with me, walked to Beaches Sandy BAY, we swam on the deserted beach where The Mahagany Inn use to be. On way back stopped for conch soup at Cosmos for lunch. Also saw a sigh that Bourban Beach was open. DJ Sat and Sun Yellowman on Monday( he did not show up)
Sunday beach. Marsha brought some produce she grew to take to her sister Paula at 3-Dives. Took route taxi and had dinner there great jerked chicken. Route taxi back to town then to beach party by craft market.
Monday sprints, beach, hung at Enjoy the Vibes, used internet there fast and cheaper then Surf and Talk. Dinner at Fansos curried lobster 1100j outstanding.
Tuesday last day beach. Ital for dinner at Carls by Fansos good price I need more spice though.
Wed. Picked up by Clive again at 9:30 airport by 11. Scheduled to leave at 1:15 plane had bad tire, had to wait for a tire from Kingston left finally at 5:30. Spirit did nothing for anyone people were pissed but thats Spirit.
