We decided to take a "day trip" to Port Antonio
Our house maid was horrified that we would make that journey in one day
and packed food for us.We rented a car for our trip and were going to stop at
Dunns River Falls as well and do the raft trip in Portie.I looked at the map and saw the island was around 200 miles long
"unfortunatly that was as the crow flies .We left at 5 am knowing we would need the whole day

we did the walk up Dunns River Falls and headed to portie.Wow the switchbacks going up Name: Scan0030.jpg

some of the roads following banana trucks bellowing diesel smoke was unnerving.
We arrived to be the last trip down the river as it would be dark when we finished.
Beers were served and markets were open as we went down river it was very romantic
We got back to the car just as it was getting dark, and I thought holy @@@@ what did I get my new wife
and I into with a drive back to NegrilWe finally got back @ 5 the next morning after a crazy trip @ night going home.
The roads were in very bad shape back then!
