Question about a review I seen about our hotel

This will be my wife and I first trip to Jamaica. I just read a review about our hotel at Riu Tropical Bay on trip advisor that you should never put money in the safe because the maids can get in them. Is this true?

Also has anyone stayed here before? How was your stay here? We will be arriving 2/5 to 2/12/12 (If this helps)

Don't know about Riu, But if your safe is robbed after you locked it properly It would be A inside robbery, unless safe is ripped out of the wall. If you don't put your cash in safe where do you put it ? Soon Come Limo Mon!
