What to do with my old Razr?

Marblehead goes through lots of razors and I just toss them when they get dull. When I got my new Droid, I just couldn't toss my old Razr (Motorola V3m Verizon). Are there any geeks out there who can advise on whethjer or not I can get this phone on a Jamaican plan? If so, how? Tanks, mon!

I think if it has a sim card you're in business, if not see what comes up when you land and contact them about a plan
that which does not kill you makes you stronger

If the phone has a sim card then the only other thing that you would need to do is get the phone unlocked. It will need to be unlocked to accept a J sim card, then all you need to do is get a sim card from the digicel store and top up some minutes.

not just a SIM card -

to work in JA it must also be a quad-band phone, that operates on the GSM (global) network. Look up the specs and see.....

so, if it uses a SIM and meets both of those specs, then you would have to get it 'unlocked' - either by looking online for the unlock code, or asking your phone company if they would provide that to you (most are not too willing to do so, but sometimes they will). Once that's done, you could then purchase a SIM in ja and use it there.

Verizon doesn't use the GSM bands. Also no sim card.

The CDMA VZ Razr does work in Jamaica as a Roaming device. I'd just like to take advantage of converting it to a local plan. I know it doesn't have a sim and that complicates things.

Digicel uses gsm. There may be a different service that can help, and but not sure who.
