Airfare from Newark NJ to MBJ

United/Continental price is $869 RT/PP for April 20-29. The price hasn't budged in weeks and the seats are filling up. Are people really willing to pay this much???? I am trying to be patient and wait for it to come down. Last year I got a great price on New Years Eve. Doesn't look like it's happening this year.

I feel you!! I've been searching for a flight April 18th - April 28th from SFO to Montego Bay and I've been confronted with some outrageous and discouraging prices! Tickets were also in the $800-$1,000 dollar range! Which is insane! I've never paid over $500 rt and I'm all the way over on the westcoast. I'm crossing my fingers that the prices go down in the next few months.

You can improve on your flight costs by being more flexible with the dates. You want to fly out on a Friday and return on a Sunday. Unfortunately, Those are the most expensive days to fly.

Adjusting your flight to fly out on a Saturday and return on a Monday or the following Saturday changes the ticket cost substantially.

Check Kayak.com and try different dates. I saw some roundtrip tickets end of April NJ to MBJ for $419-433. If I were you, I'd wait it out a bit more. I'm sure you can score tickets for even less than that in about a month. Right now all the major sales promotions I've been seeing stretch from now to the end of March.

Thanks Me no sen! - I signed up for the Yapta and Kayak flight alert.
Yes, I just saw that $604 AirTran flight. Unfortunately it leaves at 1:55 PM has a 14 hour overnight layover in Atlanta ... not fun, but if that flight ever dips down under $500, we would probably take it regardless.

MoinMonroe - If you're feeling adventurous, you can do what we do... wait until about 1 month and 2 weeks before your trip to book your flight. It's a little risky, but so far we've managed to score the cheapest tickets that way.

tues-wed-thurs are the cheapest days to fly; weekend days cost more.

and if you are looking on the airline website itself for United or Continental, those are the HIGHEST prices. you gotta use the booking websites -- bookit.com and travelation.com both seem to have slightly better prices than expedia, orbitz, travelocity, and the other 'big' ones.
