Nick is sharing his experience and others out there are sharing theirs..Maybe its not all positive..but isnt that what a "Travel/tourist based" message board is about-sharing our experiences and thoughts that relate to Negril ??? And maybe getting some constructive feedback as you did offer Rob?? Whats it got to do with "Bashing"... I guess one can only post the positive here...

Suzen - If you read this board at all, you will see that all truthful subjects are dealt with here. But obvious bashing of a business is not helpful or beneficial to anyone at all. There are enough irresponsible websites on the internet and Negril.com will not be one of them.

Come on Nick, if you want to try to contact Jimmy Buffett directly, using Negril.com is most certainly not the most efficient way that you can do this. We have absolutely no direct connection with Jimmy Buffett at all.

I will not take this thread down at this point because this illustrates how not to deal with a problem when you encounter one.

Did you contact the manager when you had the problem with the food? Nope. Did you contact the restaurant website information about the problem and try to get it resolved? Nope. Is this the proper way to deal with a simple issue like not getting a burger cooked the way you wanted? Nope.

To all, Negril.com is not here for anyone to needlessly bash any business in Jamaica. If you have a problem with a business, please contact the business first. This is only fair to everyone involved. If they then fail to help or make the situation right, then you can feel free to state the truth here.

    Suzen,

Margaritaville is not an advertiser on the site, and they are being mentioned...

O Tay! I wrote Jimmy via snail mail and emailed his office in Key West.
As far as the manager in Negril is conserned. I believe that a big part of the problem is a One and Done mindset. This is evident by the serving of freezer burnt meat and sub par fries. A complimentary drink or another entree will not solve this problem and seriously now,,,I like Jimmy and I want his place to be great.
I will report any reply from the Key West office.

We have a bond with Margaritaville. On our first trip (2000) to Negril staff at our hotel informed us that we could hop the Margaritaville bus for a free ride to the beach at 11am. OMG, what a ride! Hanging on for dear life down the West End Road (the road has been improved since then, lol) a big group of us, laughing hysterically. Walking in through Margaritaville was our first real look at the beach and it was awesome! At the time you could buy a Margaritaville mug, all you can drink rum & juice from 11am-4pm for $12! (I was pregnant that year, so no drink for me, but I got a cup!) I think it's more like $25 now but that's also March Break pricing, could be cheaper other times. I have a nice collection of mugs from over the years, becomes a challenge to get a new colour! Also, Margaritaville is where I get my hair done. It's been the same lovely lady for many years now. I think the only thing I've eaten there is nachos (while a little tipsy) they were awesome. The staff have always been cheerful and helpful (dragging our loungers around etc.) We have gone up and requested better music and gotten it. I totally understand that it's a "tourist trap" but man it can be a fun one! It's a great peice of beach and I have alot of amazing memories there. It's become a tradition and will always be where we spend our first full day.

It's what you make of it, anywhere is

My post is for people who dislike it because it's not "local" (alot of the same local staff for years though) or because they consider it to "touristy". I don't think that's a good reason to tell others to go somewhere else, that's all! Just sharing my experience. Hope you get somewhere with your Cheeseburger Nick!
