@Clarity One of the other girls actually questioned the kids as we were walking out one day. From what she got from it was that their mother was there but in another room somewhere. I did see her on their porch one morning gathering up all the beer bottles..then she rode off on the back of a scooter. Those kids would be up sometimes when I got in, in the wee hours of the morning! Each to their own I guess. I know they start drinking young over there in Italy!
