New Years Eve. in Negril, as I remember it.

Not sure what this picture is of but its the last one from my phone, before loading the shuttle. Any way as we head down the westend road, me never shutting up and still annoying the lady in the back. Rock Robster and others seemed a little concerned about where I was going and my safety. Anyway we get by Canoe and i say let me out here!!! Dam they were just locking up the joint, oh well so I start walking toward town, first stop Sunset After Dark was open and there were a few people around, so I had a drink with Patrick and his friend cathy who I met when i was there in nov. "so whats goin on now i ask " looking for the next stop? Anyway I bought some peanuts from a rasta and wandered out the gate towards the corner bar. On the way up they setting up those towers of speaker in the empty lot next to the corner bar, so I guess there was a street party there, any way now i am walking drinking vodka Ting trying to eat peanuts all at the same time, surprised I didnt take a fall, as I was barely paying attention to any thing except getting those dam little peanuts outa the shell, pretty sure I ate some shell with the nuts anyway. (vodka Ting oh yeah for the beer drinkers out there, you know when you know you had too many and the beer just isnt tasting good any more so you switch? Thats the time when you are suppose to know not to drink any more! Ok So as I get close to the Corner bar the crowd gets ATI thick, so if vyou never been to ATI the beach road is just packed with tonnes of people, and thats how the road was now. With one dumb tourist walking through just checkin out the scenery and eating peanuts and drinking vodka Ting! It was pretty cool there was a lot of bodies on the road! Any way So now I am past it getting up to the roundabout and have to make a decision? OK so Rooftop, or Beachpark,or Alfred,s, or Jungle? Easy decision my drink is empty and the rooftop is the closest!

As i ate the corn and listened to Luciano in the background, I am thinkin where next?!!! and how am i gettin there? Any way there was a quite a few boardies there, some i remember talking to and maybe some I dont.lol RockRobster tells me his wife is still mad as Ras Walleye ate all the cupcakes on the buffet, I didnt get one either! So I get up to the bar and get a Redstripe and time to settle up my tab!!! I always try to only carry as much cash as i need for the night, but I brought a little extra as it was new years eve anyway the tip thing always gives me a hard time, but not sure you should ask "how much is a good tip? to the bar staff.lol any way I just kept handing over money until I got the smile that tells you, your not always a cheap ass!

Great report PG, can't image you annoying anyone on a bus after umpteen Redstripes.... and your descriptive version of walking the road drinking Vodka and trying to eat peanuts...man, I sure can picture that!

Where was I, oh yeah headed to the Rooftop, it was kinda quiet out front, but went in anyway, followed a few locals up the stairs. It was not really busy but full. First stop the bar for a vodka Ting, I am pretty sure they are like acure for too much beer as they seemed to be sobering me up. Anyway I kinda scan the crowd to see how safe it looks, pretty melloow looking crowd, and definitely more chicks, than dudes! Dont see that often in a bar! Any way there is this bench kinda thing along the front wall there and its pretty full, except a half a seat between a couple pretty young ladies! I walk right over and squeeze in right between,lol I was kinda laughin under my breath, they musta been thinkin oh no look at this stupid tourist coming this way, no please dont sit,aww not here! Anyway, I think my first sentence was how are you fine young ladies doing tonight? Ok so the girl to my left had slid way over, so I got the hint there, but the one on the other side, responded "we are good" "can you buy me and my friend a Magnum?" I lauged and said "I would but you have to be eighteen to drink in Jamaica" They paled the how offende they were by this thing you know, so I ask them for ID they were like no mon we are 24, they actually made it look like they were looking for there ID, "never mind I,ll be right back" Yeah its new years eve and I wasnt out of money yet so what the hell, besides they were nice enough to talk to me, and I am pretty sure they were not working.lol So I come back with the two Magnums and before you know it how about can we get a cigarette,"I dont smoke ,you know its bad for youy dont you?" Anyway its new years and off to the bar I go"two cigarettes please" So I bring the cigarettes back and after some more conversation, mostly I was kinda on them about you seem like nice girls, what are you doin here this late? Maybe father instincts,lmao. Now there is some young dudes startin to gather round, I am not dumb buyin drinks and smokes will attract a crowd pretty quick at these kinda places, so however not smart to go to the Rooftop by myself at 2 or 3 am, I am pretty good at knowing when its time to leave, and that was now,so "hey I got to take a leak, I will be right back" Yeah right, I did go relieve myself, took a real close look at the only girl spinning on the brass pole,(hey while i was there might as well get a close look) and down the stairs I went. I didnt want to use up the rest of my money buyin drinks for the rest of the Rooftop. Back on the street! Where next, I guessin its got to be like between late 2 something and early 3 something by now! Over the Negril river bridge I go, does anybody else hate walking over that bridge, its bad enough in the aday but at night or early am in this case? I always think someone is going to push me over that short railing along the side walk! Oh what about this too? when walking in Negril are you suppose to walk on the right or the left?you know like even here in North America it really bothers me there isnt a rule for that, it should follow the driving, you dont just drive on the other side of the road when ever you fell like it, since I walk alot I think about this alot,espeacially every time I cross that brdge, I have noticed the tendancy is to walk on the other side but not every one follows the rules!!! Sorry where was i? ok so am a proaching the beach park kinda wander up a bit, but doesnt look too busy, (one of the bartenders st Fun Holiday told me it was a good choice not to go in, he said it was boring anyway)

So as the title states what I remember of it, for some reason the part when leaving Seastar on the shuttle until getting to Canoe was notas clear, I remember the rest pretty clear like I said the vdka Ting seemed to counteract the beer!lol

OK so beach park is out so continue my walk up the beach road up to Alfred,s have to decide again here or Jungle? I just never stopped walking, not sure why but I end up across the road and for some reason I feel its time for some road chicken! Half please! I am the Blue Dandy guy I am pretty sure I got chicken here before, any way this lady comes over from her cooler to the right and "cold Redstripe mon, cigarettes?" "no thanks" anyway she gets kinda angry looking, and I am paying for my chicken with my last crumpled up five hundred dollar bill! I didnt realize this was the end of my money until that moment! So I dig in all my pockets and come up with a couple more hundreds,so I ask the chicken guy hey can I get a Cranberrywata too with this? he says yeamon so waves to the lady to the left with the cooler, yeamon he needs a cranberrywata, ok so now the cooler lady on the right, the angry one catch wind of this and she is patoi,ing loud now about how she was there first,any way I gave the money to the chicken guy, and said heymon you figure it out, put my hands up and walked away with half a jerk chicken and a cranberry water, but the worst of it all its only like 4:30 am and what! I am outa money, what was I thinkin buyin cigarettes and Magnums at the Rooftop!!! Well at least I didnt have much farther to walk back to Fun Holiday, but the worst part, the Jungle was still hopin looked packed, and I talked to some one that was there and said it was packed and really good!!! When I got back to the room I thought about sneakin in for more money and back across the road to the Jungle, but after the early am chicken dinner I was getting tired anyway, Must have been I didnt take my usual late night blurry picture of the road chicken.lol (The next day[very hung over!] I remembered I had a stash of $150 US I totally forgot about that my motherin law gave me for christmas!!! Dam it coulda been Jungle money!

Oh man! That was great! You had me cracking up over here. I can totally picture the whole scene..I remember driving through that crowd at the roundabout too! Not much else..but I remember that!!! lol. Sounds like you had yourself an adventorous night anyway...imagine if you had made it to the Jungle! Watch out!
