    Returned package...

In July of last year I mailed a package to Red Ground Negril for a friend of mine. Unfortunately the package was marked "not collected" and was returned to me in December. The package had been opened on both ends and then taped closed and marked "opened for examination". Curious as to why it had been opened? I pray all is good with my friend and I will hand deliver the package to her in a couple of weeks.

It's not unusual for mailed packages to be inspected when they cross a border. It may be a red flag if it's for pickup and nobody picks it up. But I've had packages opened for inspection when mailed between the US and Canada.

Not sure if you know but You must be sure to alert the recipient to go and ask for the package. Most mail/pkgs goes to a post office and then you have to have them continue to check to see if the post office has anything under their name. That's why they called it "not collected" - sounds like your friend did not go ask about it in July. In my experience it takes 10-12 days for items to reach Negril (maybe a day or two more for more rural post offices.
I am sure your friend is fine - she may have not know to go check for your pkg.

Sweetness, I'll bet you are 100% correct. I gave her no date to expect the package. So now I will hand deliver along with a big hug!
