Da Bus is long gone (oh, memories)....however, it was replaced with Bourbon Beach some time ago which carried on the legend of the infamous jerk chicken.
Recently though it has been closed, then open, then under new management....all sorts of changes and I think now it is open again and we are waiting for someone to try it out and report back as to whether it is the same or not.......
If you are talking about Mavis's by where Pete's used to be it has been a while. Uprising pub is about all that is original for food around there. For the best patties on the beach in my opinion go to Niah's at Waves beach park further down the beach in the area of Boat bar just ask anyone local they will direct you.
the "DeBus" death was a slow and painful thing...... from when it started until its final day was a rough 'ole road for sure..
you will notice the difference in Negril for sure.....enjoy your homecoming

Here are a couple "blasts from the past" featuring Mavis, Pete's and DeBuss.
Here is a page from Negril.com that I posted back on September 9th, 1996:

And here is one of the "historic" pages from Debuss - this was the first live video webcast ever from the island of Jamaica on August 11th, 1998:

That is so awesome that you still have all of this archived.
De Bus holds some really great memories for me from my very first trip to Negril (and Jamaica actually).....fun times!
Pete's used to be our early morning breakfast spot, when the jungle first opened it was all afterhours every night. Pete's used to collect us.
I have some pics around, but they would need to be scanned.
