    Your help needed!

Here are my 2012 trip options:

April looks tough. I would have to go early April...late April/May is the time of year when my work load is crazy. And my sons' rugby games start April 20ish. I could sneak a week in, MAYBE, around April 10/13 to 17/20.

May is out. Both sons have rugby games each Fri/Sat. My son Jac is in the season where he might get recruited...I gotta be there for every game...he's only got this year and next...

June is ok, with the exception that I also go on vacation to Maine in July. It's also less attractive to me to go to a warm place during the months of June July August September.

    Sept/Oct/Nov:
My older son's senior year of football. Who knows how well they will do but last year they won 4 playoff games after the regular season. Scheduling is dicey.

November I have a tenative tripped planned...already was thinking of moving back to Dec/Jan though. See above.

    I am thinking:

    Option #1:
Scrap April. Add a quick 7-8 day in June. Scrap November, add December and bring my sons for 9 days +/-

    Option #2
Scrap all the trips until December. Bring my sons for the holiday week; fly them back home for school, and stay as long as possible into January.

    Option #3:

Fly down for a cheap AI 3-5 day April trip (see 'em sometimes for like $400 last minute). Scrap the rest and schedule the December trip, but somewhat shorter.

FYI: budget IS a concern, too...obviously. But I can stay in Negril for dirt cheap if needed. The key is "what is the most economical use of my time?" and when will I "enjoy myself the most?"

PATTY: Do you think $500 per Brasi signature is feasible? LOL jk

Anyway: what do you all think? I'm not John Quinones, but WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

I'd pick option #2, even though you'd have to wait longer. I'm older than you, though, and would rather spend more of my time in JA in the winter months. Find that the older I get, the more I dislike winter. And I'm sure your kids would love to spend the holidays in Negril. My kids always loved that and then going back to school after the break with nice tans and getting to tell all about their trip.

    Maryann,

I hate the thought of waiting...but I also did one quick 6-day trip in 2008 and I barely got relaxed...if I waited until December I could save my vacation time and maybe do a crazy-azz thing like 20 days, a week of it with my sons...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I'd probably go with option 2. Time with your sons AND more time outta the cold.
Don't waste your time with explanations, people only hear what they want to hear.

    I would pick Option 2

I did a quick AI deal/special once for the same reasoning as you and I hated it. I made a strong vow that very moment that I would NEVER go to Jamaica again for any less than 7 days (at least).
In my opinion, a short trip is worse than a long wait for a long trip.

However, with that said, if I had money and time, I would go as many times as possible in a year lol
But with your choices I would pick Option 2, definitely

BRASI! you know im going with 2 (p m joe) omg! we would have so much fun with your son!!!! we are all pretty much staying at the same place AND! there is the calendar signing... (jk) We are talking horse back riding etc..things you need to experience with your son ......You just cannot believe the fun this group will be having....just compare it to spring break with children involved at times...(we will exhaust the kids by day so we can party at night (sorta) hahahahaha....p m Joe .......The list is nuts!
I myself picked xmas/ new years cause we were all going to be there and it gives me all the savings by then....and get to stay longer ...I vote for #2 and be with the crew........

Same vow I made on my six day jaunt. And here I am...thinking about doing a 3-5 day. Yuck.

I guess I don't want to admit to myself that WAITING is better....lol...going TODAY is what I want to hear!

PAtty: i have two sons, 17, and 16, the older will be 18 in Sept. They would have a blast with some other "yutes" to hang with...

    Option2, that's what we do..

    Pro's: More relaxed
Lots of time to do things
Less rushing (thinking you have to do everything in one week)
Greater reaches outside of negril (lovers leap, treasure beach, pelican bar, gluttons corner, etc.)
Time to sit and do nothing
Time to think and really reflect
