    public access caves

    What places on the cliffs can a non-guest get access to caves and the water? I'm always willing to buy some food or drink for the privilege. Xtabi was always good for it in the off season, how about Feb? Wait I know the answer to that, Patty has the photo shoot thing there. So that old haunt will make me happy. Where else these days?

    Almost single digits!!!

    3 Dives has one but I am not sure of the state of the steps to it, it's been a few years since I've been in that one.

    I was doing a lot of swimming and snorkeling around 3 Dives last week (ouch that hurt to say that since I'm back in Frost-bite Falls).
    I saw at least one staircase down to the water at 3 Dives - I missed the cave though.

    I was staying at Xtabi and there were outside people coming in every day to swim.
    Gerryg even had his raft stored there and "ground" on Omar when he couldn't find it.

    Xtabi is the one place I know of where you can go, buy a drink and swim and explore their caves.

    Patty I know the cave and WILL be visiting with a professional photographer (though we'll only be toting toy cameras) who is actually finer in front of the camera than behind it... And her behind in front of the camera, don't get me started :*

    I thought I remembered seeing something about a couple of caves from different properties that you could swim between with some cautions about the owner of one. It was the caution business that got me excited, sounded like the kind of lady I'd enjoy talking to... can't seem to find that thread now...

    I believe you are talking about Joe's Cave Bar here
    Not sure if you can still access it or not but I guess it is worth a shot, it is up near Pushcart (Rockhouse)

    Thanks Mrs President Joseph's Cave and Miss Mae are exactly what I was thinking about, along with Pirate's Cave. I guess that's now the pushcart. Hmmmmm, seems like Rockhouse took some of the best public access cliffs anywhere and made them guest only? Bummer. I will walk up the road and see if Joseph's is still open when I'm there.

    Awwww, thanks for remembering....I can't take the credit, I just married him LOL

    Yes, Pirates Cave is now Pushcart and I couldn't agree with you more about Rockhouse scoring some of the best locations, of course my favorite place on earth was the Pickled Parrot and I am still a tad bit bitter that the old location of the rope swing is now a massage hut, but I digress.

    If you make your way to Pirates Cave and even Joes Cave Bar- if you befriend Miss Mae, then I hope you have a wonderful time and I also hope you share it with all of us in your trip report

    Have fun!
