    SeaSplash Stay 1/15-1/21

I know some of you have been wondering about SeaSplash under the new owners. We stayed there last week and had a great time. We have stayed in at least a dozen places on the beach and across the street and SeaSplash is going to be our Jamaica home. Jim and Ted the new owners are doing everything they can to make the place a fun comfortable place to stay and in the time they have been there they have done a great job. We checked into a jr Suite that had a little sitting area. It was a cute room and the housekeeper brought me a coffeemaker right away when I asked if there was one available. I went down to the bar to have my first Dirty Banana figuring I would unpack later. I met Jim who is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet and when I told him we were there to celebrate our 35th anniversary he asked if I had unpacked yet. When I said no he whipped out his phone and talked to the front desk then he upgraded us to one bedroom suite. He has gotten new linens and so everything was bright and fresh. He replaced the bead spreads with white blankets so it makes the rooms look classier. The kitchen had all the amenities and everything in the suite worked great. In fact most of the kitchen things were brand new (coffee maker and toaster etc). The refrigerator was clean and kept things cold. Everyday housekeeping made a beautiful towel sculpture on our bed and a couple of times they even made them on the bathroom counter. Not only were they beautiful but it always made it so we had plenty of towels and washcloths. The housekeeping staff was one of the best ones I have ever seen in Jamaica. The TV was a flatscreen that swiveled so you could watch it from the couch or the bed. And there were folding doors between the bedroom and living area that worked great for us because I tend to get up very early and I could putts around before my husband woke up and it didn't disturb him. We would go out for our morning walk and breakfast and when we got back the room was cleaned and they always did a great job. We sat out on our balcony every day and whenever anyone from the hotel walked passed they said hi and asked if we needed anything. The beach area was big and they put out the loungers every day and a sunshade to sit under. It is a great place to sit and watch the ocean and listen to the music coming from the bar area. The day before we left the brand new new beach towels came.
They were just about done remodeling the bar and dining area when we left and I saw that it is finished and they are starting Rob's webcasts there today and future Thursdays. The new bar is huge and they had opened everything up and made it larger plus it will have the upstairs for extra space. Jim is planning on having bands and parties there. The grounds are beautiful and there are so many plants it makes you feel secluded.
Winston the sound engineer became a good friend and if you ask he will play anything you ask. We spent most evenings on the new deck area and had lots of fun drinking and chatting with people.
My stay at Seaspash was more than I expected and all the people there went out of their way to do everything they possibly could to make it a great place. Give them a call if you are looking for a really nice place to stay. Jim is running some great specials right now.

We went on the One Love Bus Crawl on Wednesday and had a blast and met tons of new people and got to see a lot of the small places on the cliffs. The last bar had a gorgeous view of the sunset. Even if you don't drink you will have a good time.
Went across the street to see if the new Bayside Village shopping center was open yet and they have a few stores but mostly it is empty. I hope they can get more merchants because it looks like it would be quite the place.

We couldn't believe how fast they were getting things done just in the time we were there. It is amazing how fast they are changing things for the better.
