I love to eat at Norma's. some have said quality has changed but last spring it was as good as ever for us. Love the smoked marlin, something I'd NEVER have at home, also we stay at Country Country and I like their food, choices are limited but you can check the posted menu. Rockhouse is short taxi ride away and always has been good. Those are my "good" dinner suggestions. More loves . . . Cosmo's is wonderful, we've walked through the ai's to get there, and it well worth the walk! (Our back-to-airport taxi driver stopped there once and picked up food to take to someone in Montego Bay! He said it is the best food in Jamaica!) Ditto to Norman, the patty man walking up the beach and also little patty house by Treehouse.Love the jerk at Bourbon Beach, but I hear it may not be there now? We had a wonderful meal once at Sherita's (?) near Norma's, but due to large amount of dirty bananas don't remember what I had, jsut that it was great! Getting hungry just thinking!!

The pumpkin soup at Kuyaba's is one of the best things around. I agree about Norman the patty man....I ate so many the last time I gained eight lbs in a week lol.

There are lots of people on the beach at night. It is safe...just use common sense as you would anywhere else. Take a flashlight, relax, and enjoy!

Walking the beach during the evening/night is fine. Walking on the hard pack closer to the water will keep the hustlers/hastlers from approaching you most of the time. Common sense should always be in play and I would suggest that you not do any "shopping" with any hustlers on the beach unless you know them and even then, for me...not (they will likely claim to know you.......) I personally don't do any "shopping" on the beach. If you get approached just give them a polite NO wave or shake of the head and keep walking. Having a small flashlight is good too. Just walk, relax and listen to the sounds around you, you'll love it.

We stay at Mariners/Negril Beach Club Condos and the food at Lingah is very good. Had the best lobster tail dinner there.
