I've noticed more than ever that the best hotels have employees that have been there a long time -- from the owners to the reception desk to the servers to the cleaning staff .... It's so comforting to come back year and year and see the same faces .... Which hotels have the highest percentage of employees who've been there a long time? I bet they're some of the best properties ....
Not sure of the percentage, but there are some folks who work at the Negril Tree House that greeted me on my very first trip to Negril in 1985. Simply great people!

I don't know about longevity, but the folks at Coco were some of the most friendly and welcoming people I've ever met.
last year we stayed at Whistling Bird for the first time. Some of their employees seem to have been there since the beginning of time! I believe the same family, maybe in Colorado, have owned it for a long time. It was a very pleasant, welcoming experience! As is the case with many properties in Negril, the staff was not at all subservient to the guests, kind, friendly, helpful, welcoming, but none of the "fade into the background" demeanor of staff at some hotels.
I believe the main house keeper for Nirvana has been there for over 18 years

Wow! More incentive to stay at Treehouse, plus my new goal is to only stay at places that are locally owned.

Tree House for sure! I love the smiles we get from the minute we get there.
