I didn't know Kuyaba was so popular. Do the birds get annoying, though? Can you hear them from the rooms? I have a friend who has birds and the squawking about drives me crazy when I'm there. The amount of noise they make is extreme.

The birds do make noise but they are down towards the restaurant. You hear them around the hotel rooms but it isnt distracting. The only people that I have ever seen being bothered by the noise are the employees as Buddy's cage is less than 10 feet from the office window and Buddy likes attention. The cages are covered at night and you dont hear a peep out of them.

For those of you interested in the honeymoon suite....it is the most popular room. Sometimes it books as far out as a year in advance. If you relly want that room you need to reserve asap. It took me over 10 years to finally get to stay in the honeymoon suite after travelling yearly. It was worth the wait!

we stay at Kuyaba once in the honeymoon swwet, its not that expensive and the best room at the place, rustic is just that , we need more comfort, that honeymoon suite was one of the nices rooms we have stayed in over the years on the beach, the balcony is awsome, while we were there threy had a slight flood so we were happy to b high and dry, food is fantastic there and easy walk to anything on the beach enjoy

    Clarity,
    Your Anniversary is 4/20?
That's an ironic date for someone who enjoys Negril, no?

    LOL, sure is, Rum!
It also happens to be Stephen Marley's (one of Bob's sons for any that didn't know) birthday and for the amount of love he has for nature's plants, let's say, I always found it amusing!

I imagine Kuyaba would be even more popular if:

    1. it had a pool
    2. it had some nighttime activity
    3. you could book it any other way than direct with the hotel res sys. Many people never even hear about Kuyaba when searching for rooms....

But, it fits my bill, esp. for the $$ paid(saved). What really sets them apart is the staff, teamwork and cleanliness. Cleanest hotel we've been to in JA...

I don't know, but I think you can ask for a coffeemaker in the room, the honeymoon suite and deluxe rooms do not have them. DO ask for the fridge, it is worth the $5/day, trust me!
