    The shark video

Has anyone seen the shark video (the shark was caught somewhere (Rick's?) on the west end)?

I was thinking maybe a marine biologist (hint, hint) might weigh in on the subject.

Gerryg straightened out my naive thoughts on the subject:
I thought if they habituated the shark to eating goat at a set time every day it could have been a tourist attraction.

    Anyway that's not what happened.

Did anyone else see the video?

Did anyone else have thoughts about what took place?

Wow a monogamous shark. Who knew?

We were staying at Seastar last March and had just called a cab. The driver told us about the shark and asked if we wanted to see it. Of course we did! There was quite a crowd when we arrived. We saw the shark swimming around (it was actually past Rick's, across from Sexy Rexy's) but didn't stay for long. There were several rumors on how they caught the shark. Personally I found it a little disturbing when I heard that they threw in a dog to attract the shark. Not sure if it's true our not...

Sounds like a dog had been hit and killed by a car then they threw the dead dog in the water to attract the shark.

I really hate to see anything about sharks in my beloved Jamaica! I cringe and say a prayer before I get in the water in Florida for this very reason.

We just got back last weekend, and one evening we were walking to 3 Dives, and needed a taxi, a guy
pulled over and told us he just caught a tiger shark by the Lighthouse. When we got there, damn if he didn't,
it was about 60 lbs and in his trunk!

Oh man, we're doing a split this year between beach and cliffs. I'm going to be scared to get in the water now. Fudge.

Yeah.....watching the video I wonder how they caught it exactly. Just wow, I was nervous enough on 7 mile beach now I'll be terrified that was a BIG shark! And now one at Hedo? Yikes.

Awaiting our return to Negril, 07/01/12
