Like someone said, there are beaches everywhere. There is just this "something" that I don't feel or get on any other trip
to other places. It is just so weird that it's unspoken and it happens to a lot of people.
I have NEVER cried leaving a place I visited for a week and I cried when I left Jamaica. Now I hear other people are
affected the same way? What the heck?

For me travel is adventure, not sitting on a beach with a red stripe.

I've been to the the DR, Honduras (Roatan) twice, and St Thomas/St Maarten twice...I think April will be my 8th trip to Jamaica...7th in a row.

I tried Jamaica first, long ago, 1992ish....and maybe that's the reason I love it best...but for some reason I am convinced it goes deeper. I think this board is a perfect example of how Jamaica attracts a certain "type" of person...people that in my opinion are just a shade "deeper" than some others might be...for better...or for worse. LOL

I've done lots of healing and pondering there. When I get out of tune...Jamaica lets me find my center again.

My favorite parts of Jamaica are the undiscovered (to me) side trips...meeting people...stretching my brain out...finding comfort in the human condition...

    ...and curry goat.

    True story.

We've travelled loads through work and play over the past 30 years. Negril (Ja) is just different. We cry, always have. Shallow, maybe. I would like to think it's the dead opposite. It's a feeling deep in the soul, that brings out emotion not given freely in 'normal' situations. (I've been known to bury something of mine, just to leave something hidden and know that one day I'll have to return to find it)
