Tipping for housekeeping staff

My last trip I happened to be in the room the first day when the housekeeper was there. I asked her if she would be my regular housekeep

YES...get to know the person assigned to you room They appreciate the interest you have in them. Even if it's just to ask their name and the days they work.

I tip daily. $5US plus a little treat like chocolate, tasty cakes, cookies, nuts or mints.
