Bits and Pieces of our 2 weeks - Nine Mile

This trip we went for 2 weeks and brought the grown kids with their significant others for the first week.

On the agenda was the trip to Nine Mile with John and Anita taking care of us.

The trip takes approx 3.5 hours to get to the final destination in St. Anne's Parish. The first 2 hours is highway but once your off that the drive is slower and more cautious.
We made a pit stop just on the other side of MoBay for a quick breakfast and bathroom break. Then off we were to Nine Mile.

It was my second time there and I did not recognize the place - it has changed so much - last time was probably about 12 years ago. It was something the kids wanted to do and now it’s done.

We were not allowed to take pictures inside the Mausoleums. One houses his mother Cedella and the other is Bob and his half brother.

Our guide was not "Crazy" which my daughter's boyfriend was disappointed, but as we were leaving we recognized his infamous laugh and it made
Matt's day to get to shake his hand and meet the guy face to face.

Most of the money made at this site is routed back into the community. They had a really nice school for the youngsters.

We noticed that there was a lot of vegetable farms up in this area.

Here they have cabbages growing and a little fire to clear the long grass.

I was there in May. Captain Crazy made it a wonder experience.
