A line in the sad? lol ....
i hope it works out because many of the Negril regulars that I respect most LOVE the NBCC, particularly Jean Gaynair.
Her good reputation is indisputable, as I am sure Brasi, shellyk and others will attest!

It can happen as it did I this case.. Your right, mariners represented themselves as NBCC, and the booking agent didn't know the difference.. Still, and however - they represented themselves as NBCC.. the person was told tthey were booking NBCC. they shouldn't have to google the Phone number to verify.. Why hasn't Jean filed a lawsuit for slander and damages caused by the misrepresentation? While I understand Jean may be a innocent victim, there is validity to the thread title.
"let the Buyer Beware"........very old adage holds true even today.....
its sad that it happened, and it will continue.............................as long as anybody goes through a 3rd party to do business.....
for anything.................GE makes a TV with a 1 yr warranty, you buy it through another source that tells you its got a 3yr warranty......
how long do you think it will get fixed for free?
one lesson I quickly learned when buying or dealing with money in Jamaica............Deal or hand over money to ONLY the person that HAS the product or service you are buying, otherwise your money could be just a "finders fee"
"One of the laundry gals pipes up ,,"LOOK AT DA BLOOD"
"YES,THAT WOULD BE MINE" I said as my leg that at first gave no pain, started dishing it out in large bunches........"

My ACTUAL STAY at Mariner's was awesome...April 2011. From the Mariner's/NBCC staff, which to my knowledge is shared by both resorts, to Linga By the Sea, and the beach bar...all great and good people. My room was very nice. The location of the resort is the best on the beach. It has the best beach depth (by far) IMHO. Solid security. AC/wifi.
It's the getting a room at MARINERS (NEGRIL BEACH CLUB RESORT) that is the issue....when I rebooked for Jan 2012...I switched with about two weeks 'til takeoff because they couldn't verify my reservation. Crazy. I ain't flying on my good looks.
If this post reflects badly on Jean, it should not and is not meant to from my end...I have not dealt with her but have only heard amazing things about her hospitality, her rooms, and booking policies. I think anyone would be well served to stay at NBC CONDOS.

The hotel you booked with was the property that was formerly known as Mariners and is now Negril Beach Club RESORT
The title of your thread is indeed misleading.... You said you booked through Expedia, which has no listing for Negril Beach Club CONDOS, but they do have a listing for Negril Beach Club RESORT.
Here is the listing for the property on Expedia: http://www.expedia.com/Negril-Hotels...-5bda52bbd089&
While it appears some people may be mislead and told that they are being booked in the Negril Beach Club Condos it looks like that was not the case with your booking even though the description says "Negril beach condo property" which is somewhat misleading.
Hope this clears up any confusion on the "Mariners" end of things.
Incidently, I am booked at what Expedia has called negril beach club for mar 12-20th for a studio with kitchenette, so this thread troubles me.. I do have a pony in this race.. Maybe I should cancel and book elsewhere..
jaspero, call them and make sure they have you down for the kitchenette (call Mariners). After I found that Orbitz misinformed me by confirming I was at NBCC, I called Mariners and asked them to confirm beyond a doubt that I would be in a kitchenette unit. They did--and when I got there the room was ready for me. The kitchen was well equipped with blender, microwave, four burner stove with oven, big fridge, etc. There were other problems with the resort that I never had on Jean's side--but I am not going to get into it here. I did get what I paid for as far as the room went.
The original thread has been moved to this thread. The title of the original thread cast shame on the wrong hotel. The original poster, LuvJaBad, booked a room on the beach through Expedia and the hotel was overbooked and she was moved to an inferior hotel which was not on the beach.
While she is more than entitled to post her dissatisfaction with the hotel, in error she blamed the wrong hotel. Her room was booked on Expedia at the Negril Beach Club Resort. She placed the blame on the Negril Beach Club Condos, which is a separate entity. This is horribly unfair the owner of this business.
Although much damage has been done unfairly to the Negril Beach Club Condos, in order to attempt to correct this injustice, we have moved the thread to heading that is much less harmful to the innocent property.
Thank you for your understanding.

Wow, you can change the name of the thread but the fact remains.
NKY, no confusion here sweetheart!
Jaspero, I called one week before arrival to confirm and at that time I was told that everything was fine......regardless of what the name of the place is.
Ok, ok, I concede - different resorts....they just happen to share the pool, restaurant, bar, and beach space, lol!

they do share the same beach, pool, gardens, etc--but they are two very different places with very different qualities of service based on my experience at both. But it is confusing, and several online sellers of travel packages have the Mariners side incorrectly labeled as Negril Beach Club Condos.
