Most people, especially newbies, dont know that Jean has a seperate side/business so in all fairness, the title of the thread should remain the same and is not incorrect nor misleading.

Think about this...I cant run Joe Schmoe Beach Resort but list it online as Riu or The Caves now can I? so let me ask you all this....how is it that IF it is actually a seperate business that "Mariners" can keep using the name NBCC????????????????
Whew sorry I used Mariners I know that is the old name old habits die hard. It still says Mariners on the gate by the way. Its Negril beach club and Negril beach club condos two seperate businesses. Thats all i meant to say. Its very misleading. Sorry if I offended anyone. Not a newbie either.....

Perhaps the hotels should merge? Is this too simple a solution???

    Gerry,

Yes that is a bit too simple. They are two separate entities. Mariner's Negril Beach Club AND Caribbean Sunset are owned by one entity. The Negril Beach Club Condos are owned by another. Jean Gaynair has the Condos, and it is a timeshare coop.

A line in the sad? lol ....

i hope it works out because many of the Negril regulars that I respect most LOVE the NBCC, particularly Jean Gaynair.

Her good reputation is indisputable, as I am sure Brasi, shellyk and others will attest!

"let the Buyer Beware"........very old adage holds true even today.....

its sad that it happened, and it will continue.............................as long as anybody goes through a 3rd party to do business.....
for anything.................GE makes a TV with a 1 yr warranty, you buy it through another source that tells you its got a 3yr warranty......

how long do you think it will get fixed for free?

one lesson I quickly learned when buying or dealing with money in Jamaica............Deal or hand over money to ONLY the person that HAS the product or service you are buying, otherwise your money could be just a "finders fee"
"One of the laundry gals pipes up ,,"LOOK AT DA BLOOD"
"YES,THAT WOULD BE MINE" I said as my leg that at first gave no pain, started dishing it out in large bunches........"

My ACTUAL STAY at Mariner's was awesome...April 2011. From the Mariner's/NBCC staff, which to my knowledge is shared by both resorts, to Linga By the Sea, and the beach bar...all great and good people. My room was very nice. The location of the resort is the best on the beach. It has the best beach depth (by far) IMHO. Solid security. AC/wifi.

It's the getting a room at MARINERS (NEGRIL BEACH CLUB RESORT) that is the issue....when I rebooked for Jan 2012...I switched with about two weeks 'til takeoff because they couldn't verify my reservation. Crazy. I ain't flying on my good looks.

If this post reflects badly on Jean, it should not and is not meant to from my end...I have not dealt with her but have only heard amazing things about her hospitality, her rooms, and booking policies. I think anyone would be well served to stay at NBC CONDOS.

Incidently, I am booked at what Expedia has called negril beach club for mar 12-20th for a studio with kitchenette, so this thread troubles me.. I do have a pony in this race.. Maybe I should cancel and book elsewhere..

jaspero, call them and make sure they have you down for the kitchenette (call Mariners). After I found that Orbitz misinformed me by confirming I was at NBCC, I called Mariners and asked them to confirm beyond a doubt that I would be in a kitchenette unit. They did--and when I got there the room was ready for me. The kitchen was well equipped with blender, microwave, four burner stove with oven, big fridge, etc. There were other problems with the resort that I never had on Jean's side--but I am not going to get into it here. I did get what I paid for as far as the room went.

Misleading Thread - Negril Beach Club Resort & Negril Beach Club Condos

The original thread has been moved to this thread. The title of the original thread cast shame on the wrong hotel. The original poster, LuvJaBad, booked a room on the beach through Expedia and the hotel was overbooked and she was moved to an inferior hotel which was not on the beach.

While she is more than entitled to post her dissatisfaction with the hotel, in error she blamed the wrong hotel. Her room was booked on Expedia at the Negril Beach Club Resort. She placed the blame on the Negril Beach Club Condos, which is a separate entity. This is horribly unfair the owner of this business.

Although much damage has been done unfairly to the Negril Beach Club Condos, in order to attempt to correct this injustice, we have moved the thread to heading that is much less harmful to the innocent property.

    Thank you for your understanding.

Wow, you can change the name of the thread but the fact remains.

    NKY, no confusion here sweetheart!

Jaspero, I called one week before arrival to confirm and at that time I was told that everything was fine......regardless of what the name of the place is.

Ok, ok, I concede - different resorts....they just happen to share the pool, restaurant, bar, and beach space, lol!
