How do you know that she hasnt tried? Did you ask her? And have you given thought to how many thousands of 3rd party websites there are that she would need to contact? TripAdvisor alone has 18 subsidiary travel sites, operated by TripAdvisor. And they are owned by Expedia - I have no idea how many websites they operate...And yes, I am serious about the google reference. Sparky posted the phone number he received and I googled it. The result is NOT the phone number of the NBCC, but for the Negril Beach Club Resort, formerly Mariner's Negril Beach Club. If LuvJaBad would post the phone number contact for the hotel that she booked with, the situation may become more clear for her. She would not need to google the phone number, I would be able to handle that.

Please understand that there are laws involved here. The Negril Beach Club Resort in one name, and the Negril Beach Club Condos is another. Your specific reference about my domain being "hijacked" is something I have dealt with for years. And there are sitautions under the law that I cannot change. There have been many sites over the years with variations of "negril.com" in their name. Some were created to be confusing on purpose to use our success to their benefit. I felt it was very unfair and potentially illegal. But I was wrong. Under the law, there was nothing legally I could do about those confusingly named websites. That is reality in this matter.

The name that I know the NON-timeshare units at that property is the Mariner's Negril Beach Club. Perhaps they legally changed the name to the Negril Beach Club Resort. But when humans are involved, mistakes can happen. If the name wasnt legally changed, and the 3rd party websites mistakenly refer to the property as the Negril Beach Club Resort - this would now be up to the 3rd party to change in their own time frame.

It is interesting that you bring up Harry at Catcha. There was a mistake in the listing on TripAdvisor when the Catcha Falling Star Gardens opened. It didnt seem like much at first, but that mistake took over a year to correct. There were multiple mistakes done and redone by TripAdvisor, information was lost and resent over and over, but the situation is finally resolved. It took literally hundreds of emails and calls to resolve this matter. When a 3rd party has no real interest in making sure things are correct, it can take a long time to make sure that things are correct.

In a perfect world it would be simple. But this isnt a perfect world.

Glad you mentioned Catcha's issues as it's a great example of Jane's persistence. She shared the story with me on my last reach, hence why I felt compelled to add my two cents to this thread. Maybe Jane can share with Jean the steps it takes to get it done....Katho, I'm not one to go on the web to argue with anyone. I just cannot believe I am still reading about these mix ups. Tons of folks have had their vacation get off to a less then desirable start because of this.
