OMG I think we're going back!

I am so excited. We haven't been to Negril for 3 years. The economy has SUCKED and we just weren't able to swing it and stay the way I like to. I have been dropping (less than subtle) hints to my husband. I have been going to Jet Blues website as well as our beloved Grand Pineapple and I've scribbled down dates, figures etc.. Well, it must not have gone unnoticed, as he tells me today that he dropped by the post office to get the form to renew my sons passport!!! This seems like an EXCELLENT sign!! I've been away from the board for so long too, I've missed everyone, but it's frankly no fun for me visiting the site, when I know I can't go. As a matter of fact, it can be depressing. I'm must that way I guess.... We have ALWAYS gone in March or April, but this year it will be June. Please tell me it's not too hot... What the weather like then guys???? Thanks!

Welcome back! I'm new here, I was around back in 2010 when we were planning our first trip came back when we were planning or next trip this July. Glad your going back soon. I've been in August and didn't find it to hot at all, of course I live in central Texas so my definition of hot is different than other peoples. In August it was low 90's but it rained every afternoon and that cooled it off. So glad your husband took the hint!

Awaiting our return to Negril, 07/01/12

I've been there in June a couple times and didn't think it was any hotter than usual. Seems that there are more early afternoon showers but love those. Did miss having lobster, though.

Thanks Jbizek and Maryann, I live in Tampa, so I'm used to the killer heat and humidity... I don't think it will be too bad as there is always a breeze. I didn't want to go any later in the summer as hurricane season starts, and I would have to worry about my home as well as my vacation... didn't want to deal with all of that...

It's a little more humid that what you're used to going in March/April, and you can expect an afternoon shower most days. As a result, there will be more skeeters, especially around sunset. A few inconveniences, but all is well as long as you're prepared for it!

I always used to go in June and at Christmas/New Years. I do not love it when it is terribly hot, and June has never been a problem. I am looking at a trip in June myself, a birthday present to me!

We always go in June! I don't find it bad at all, but I do live in the DEEP South where it's hot and humid all the time. You usually get an afternoon shower, but it does cool it down. I think it's actually nice in June. This year we have to go at the beginning of July, so I am hoping the weather is not much different!
