oh man those peanuts Seriously the rum punches sound innocent enough--but they are usually topped off with overproof and can steal your wits in no time at all. And then finishing with JB n Ting--well some sort of stupor or psychosis may follow--I have experienced both. Good thing you were in good hands--and feel no shame--as someone else in this thread said--there are many in your company. Thanks for the continued report--I am bummed the trip is almost at its end.

"I had been drinking beer so I decided to switch to liquor on this day. It was a decision maybe I should have thought twice about. "

    Kevin,

Super report. Love seeing and hearing about your experiences...they mirror lots of my own memories of my first trip.

Great report, props for your honesty...and trust me...you are NOT ALONE.

It's nice that you have such an understanding partner in crime!

We do make a great team. We always have each others back. I’m sure one of these visits I’ll be the one saying “Let’s go!” although Beth can typically drink me under the table and still function the next day.

I almost didn’t post that but it’s so classic I had to share.

Oh there are so many references to that movie I could have made. Like singing “I got a Golden ticket” when we finally pushed the button.

I’m certain it won’t be my last but now I know that I need to pace myself a little slower when drinking rum there. Maybe I’ll be able to salvage part of the day at least.

I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get any more posted today as I’m back to work and have plans tonight but we’ll see if I can squeeze the last 2 days in. If not today then tomorrow for sure.

Please be XXXtra carefull of the white overproof rum.(Whites)
If you are pouring it for yourself measure a capfull or half a regular shot.
Real rummies drink it with just a splash of water.
My rum drinking friends stick with Appleton as they find that they can manage it better.
I don't like the smell or taste of rum.
Maybe snuck into a fresh juice not to sweet rum punch BUT then I can only manage 1.
A nice souvenir is one of the little rum jiggers/measures to sit on top of your rum bottle cap.
You will see them at all the bars. Probably found in a Chinesse/Jamaican shop.
Drink lots of water especially fresh coconut water. That should help the dreaded hangover.

That's the exact method I was eventually shown rather than employing my "rock star" approach.
