Ive never experience this before because where I grew up, not everyone went away for spring break but my daughter (15 yrs old) came home the other day and says to me "Mom, my friend told me she would never stay at a 3 star hotel" - I didnt know what to say. Her friends parents own a condo in Riviera Maya and go there every chance they can. Granted, they have more money than I do but aside from that, we take our teens with us on our winter break trips every year - and they know how lucky they are! We tried to think of a comeback but were dumbfounded. I tried to reassure her that we would be ok at Fun Holiday - clean room and bathroom and she said to me "don't worry mom - I told her we know where to go in Negril and where the best spots are so it doesn't matter how pretty the hotel is - we will be chillin on the beach and my mom doesnt have cook or clean!" ...what a great kid I have! only 5 sleeps!
