Talking WE DID IT!! We just pushed the button!! We're going back to Jamaica!

Sorry for being M.I.A. these past few weeks. We lost a friend very close to us and we have been grieving this loss.

Thank you everyone that has reached out to offer their condolences, it meant a lot to us...

For a while I lost all interest in traveling to Negril... in doing anything really...I was just shuffling to work like a zombie, going through the motions and then curling up in bed to sleep as soon as I returned home... I was in a bad shape....

Yesterday, we realized more than ever that we really need to take this trip to Negril in April for our 10 year wedding anniversary. We're hoping that some time together in Jamaica will help us heal....

As luck would have it, we received an email notification this afternoon about a significant drop in ticket prices. So...after work we marched to the bank with our “iriebox”, deposited all the money we've been saving over the past months and then we actually did it! We pushed the button!! Our day has finally come!

FYI: For anyone planning a trip to Negril in April, NOW is the time to get that flight. 7-6 weeks before really IS “the sweet spot”. Sign up for email notifications from Yapta, Bing, Kayak and then keep a close eye on your inbox. Have your trigger finger ready because only a limited amount of seats will be available for that discounted price. Just grab it!

It's official, we're flying into Jamaica on April 19th and we're staying for 12 days!

12 DAYS!!!!!! – A dream come true! I have to pinch myself because I don't believe this is really happening! We've never stayed more than six nights – So this is really like 2 trips in 1 for us!

We decided life is too short and we're going to stretch this trip out. Make it really count. Plus we're planning on starting a family soon, so this will be our last trip ….for quite a while....

Can you imagine how long it would take us to write a trip report after a 12 day trip?? Probably a few years...at the rate we've been going. (Which reminds me...we haven't even finished our last one yet. So we'll post the rest of that trip report soon.)

We look forward to meeting some new boardies on this reach! Marley, Ralonzo, Booger, Brasi...everyone! We can't wait to see you! We're so excited about the boardie bus trip to YS falls and Pelican Bar!

PattySather and Joe Trinidad– Markus is already practicing his “manly man” poses

Negril here we come! Still can't believe it!

Just set up my countdown ticker (best feeling in the world!)
    49 days to go!!

We just popped open two Red Stripes! It's officially time to do the happy dance....

We'll see you all in Jamaica!!

Nice work you two. We just happen to fly in on April 19th as well after a redeye leaving So Cal on April 18th. Seastar soon come. Wait a minute, you guys book your room yet? Still some availability at Catcha and Seastar during those dates. And glad to see you back. I am here reeling after losing a friend on Saturday. She was only 36.

Booger - I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. My bestfriend was 33 and I still haven't fully digested this loss. I go from feeling numb to feeling overcome by grief. My chest tightens and I feel like I can't breathe. I'm so sorry you're going through this too... I wish I had the right words, all I can say is that I understand what you're going through...This is still really hard to write about..

To answer your question: Yes, I have Seastar booked for a few days (we'll be there at the same time) and I have the Pisces cottage booked for the last few days of our trip. (the grand finale). Now I just need to figure out where we are going to stay for our actual anniversary (4/20) and I need to find an affordable place on the beach for the middle stretch of our trip...

Do you have all your rooms booked already?

Iriesistah - Thank you so much! We're so excited! I wish we could meet you too, we'll definitely make the most of every moment of this trip and embrace this experience to the fullest. It's a dream come true for us!

I'm excited for you and your upcoming trip too! I hope you have the most wonderful time in Negril!

Thanks Pretty40! I'm excited about staying at the Pisces! It looks so cozy, romantic, and I like the open shower
I've heard complaints about the street noise, since it's kind of far back in the property. I'm sure it wont be a problem for us, did it bother you at all? Could you see a bit of the ocean from the balcony?

I'm a city girl, so noise is a part of my life. The only noise I remember hearing was a horn from someone's car pulling up by the office. Pisces is right in front across from the office. The shower is awesome. I am sure you will have no complaints!!

Great to hear you've booked a trip, and a longer one too. Glad you have something to look forward to. 12 days will be so nice. Don't forget to get some water shoes. They come in handy.

Angel - thanks so much! It's nice having something to look forward to. I can't even imagine what it will be like to experience 12 days in Jamaica. The minute we pushed that button, I felt genuinely happy. It's a welcome change to the dark emotions I've been feeling over the past few weeks. We really need to take this trip.

...and yeah, I have to remember to pack water shoes this time. lol! Thank you for reminding me!- In fact, I'm going to order some on Amazon.com right now!
