Few Observations on Negril 6 years later.....

Been going to Negril for many years, six years ago my last visit. Back from a week ago.
    Some observations.

The Beach.......The east end is great.....good sand, hotels are alive and many being upgraded. The west end part of the beach has deteriorated. Many places with little or no beach; difficult to walk along the water's edge; many properties closed or in disarray. Why people cram themselves in to Legends I will never understand.

The West End.....Many oceanfront properties alive and well. The shops on the road have definitely deteriorated. many closed down. Too much litter. A lot of potential but it will need some money and motivation to bring it back.

Airport: Much improved. A pleasure to go through.

Music: Few and far between. All inclusives have definitely hurt the music on the beach. The were a few concerts but noting like it used to be.

    Still will return.

I agree, but here are the reasons: 1, cheap prices combined with misleading use of term "all-inclusive" (at Legends, it's really a meal plan); 2, crowded because of Samsara shuttle; 3, strong Internet presence.

T Water's present owners have been paying the property taxes. The Parish Council is currently dealing with this matter. No speculation needed.

Good to hear. Mr. Segrie would be happy to see it revived.
