If you have it in the budget Mystic Mountain was one of the most fun things we did over on that side.
The jamaican bobsled is so much fun, they have ziplining too, and a really nice infinity pool with a tall curly slide going down into it. With a bar, restaurant, gift shop, you could spend all day there. We had a lot of fun. It is in Ochi not far from Dunns River

So as it went yesterday, started with along walk around the neighbourhood. We had breakfast and packed the car for a day trip. So after a little research I found out there are no cruise ships on friday in Ocho Rio so that makes a good day for Dunn,s river falls. My two kids here have not done that one before, anyway it was a good day as it was not really busy.
This is still a nice trip even though its so touristy now.
The first time I was here was in 1989 and it was pretty rustic.
So the kids climbed the falls with mom, while I lugged the towels and took lots of pictures and video.
They made me pay the entry fee even though I never clombed the falls, I tried to get out of it but not a chance.
Oh and if you go you need water shoes, or they make you rent them for $7.
We used to bring water shoes for everyone and almost never used them,oh well so it goes.
After we cleared out of there and passed on the $40 personalized dvd, we headed into Ocho Rio we were looking for a place to eat after cruising through the whole town, the traffic was bad and stupid one way streets! The kids were asking for Burger King again, but no way.
So I remembered there is a Scotchies just outside of town!
They still cook the chicken on the wood with the zinc sheets over top!
Its as good of jerk chicken as there is!
and on friday they have conch soup as well, jerk chicken, conch soup, and festival! Great lunch!
Back to the villa for a late afternoon swim and a couple cold Redstripes.
Then I headed down to Leroy,s for a beer, and ran into four whit ladies just leaving, the driver rolls down the window and says you look familliar?
Anyway she stays in Negril for parts of the winter, and we crossed paths on Facebook before, only in Jamaica!
So after talking with them for a bit, they were on there way back to Negril, I head into Leroy,s.
Chin is standing at the bar, she used to work here, but rented a cart on the cruiseship pier.
Was great talking to her she said her and her partner are doing well selling drinks there.
So she told me they opened a new Margaritaville right on the pier.
They plan on opening it up to the public at some point, the pier and margaritaville that is.
Anyway she said maybe on tuesday she can get me on to the pier!
So i head back up for dinner late as usual, chicken lasagna! mmm We always have the cooks make this while we stay here.
The kids are excited to get to the crab races, so off we head, well they went while I showered, late as usual I am again!
Had thoughts of going to Pier 1 in Mobay, but was tired and just couldnt get moving, early bed this night!

    So St. Paricks day saturday!
OK what to do, the day started off as usual with a walk though the neighbourhood, followed by breakfast.
Then a trip to the beach with the kids.
WE had decide a plan for later, and have been in Negril the last three St. Patricks days, so we were thinking of Canoe and Seastar, but also had to factor in the two hour drive each way!
We also were looking at a new attraction from Falmouth, The Galleons of Captain Hook its a pirate ship dinner show.
The kids wanted to do the pirate thing and we agreed that we could due without the "are we there yet" every fifteen minutes from the back seat.
So off we went to the Falmouth pier to get on the pirate ship.
It was pretty cool ship along with all the pirates in full costume.
So they put on a great show along with those dumb contests dancing and the pirate acts, including tyheenemy ship coming up out of the night for a gun battle, and sword fight!
The drinks flowed freely, and it inluded a steak and chicken dinner, yews I said steak!
We agreed it might have been the best steak we ever had? In Jamaica? Really! Anywhere!
My daughter was scared to death when the other ship first pulled alongside, lol
So we had a great time and returned around ten.
I bolted back out down the hill to Leroys for more St. Pattys day festivities!
Dragon Stout being the beverage of choice!
Ended up staying down there really late, until the end!
Oh here is something weird, when we were eating dinner on the ship, ends up that the people the next table over live in our neighbourhood at home, like right down the street!
I here the call of Negril, ande Seasplash! Not sure about the drive, we will see.

Must be getting down to the last part of the trip,as the activity level has dropped off drastically!
It didnt help feeling the effects of a really late saturday night.
Pretty much after breakfast, just relaxed by the pool, thought seriously of heading over to Negril, and the show at Seasplash, except we were almost out of food, and the local market was closed as its sunday.
So after some left over chicken lasagna, I made the trip to Ironshore, to Progressive foods for some supplies.
Topped up with fuel and changed some money, and back I head.
It was fun seeing all the busses coming from the airport with loads of new tourists, and how they stop at the drivers favourite spots for the first Redstripes.
I wanted to stop, and say welcome to Jamaicva mon! lol
Anyway unloaded the supplies so our cook could make us dinner (garlic shrimp, steamed veggies, and salad!)
Went down and had a few beers with the guys at the beach.
And got a copy of a cd I heard the other night, really rude and crude, lol, its for my 15 yr. old son he likes that stuff.
Anyway back for dinner then crashed on the couch, it was like I was paralized or something, just finished!
Only a couple more days and were done!
Maybe I will go check airfare for the boardie bash now? lol
