    Kind of a crazy question????

Since I don't know the answer, guess it isn't so crazy. If I take a radio from the states, is there any problem with picking up local JA stations?? Last year, my radio on my MP3 player, wouldn't pick up. I know that many digital devices have international coding, ie, some dvd players purchased in the states have problems in Jamaica.

This is an older version of a radio, that I thought I might take and just leave in JA. I love listening to JA radio, especially in the mornings. Any thoughts??? Will it work there, or should I just opt to buy a cheap one there??

it's not like dvd players, which have regions.

    you'll be fine.

FM and AM are what they are and your stateside unit will pick up the frequencies as they do at home. The problem with many MP3 players is that they are geared to pick up signals in larger cities where most are sold/being used. In Negril, you need a radio with some pull to get IRIE FM and such. Usually a boom box with an antenna will suffice.

Over the years i've always brought cd's and dvd's for music, but in February i took down my docking station for my iPod Touch and i was able to get both AM and FM stations easily.
You're right Yetta, morning radio is the best!
You will be fine taking down a small radio.

there are two great stations in Sav as well.

you won't lack for options. many of these stations are old school in the sense that the djs select.

absolut, one of the jungle djs, has his radio show on one of the sav stations.
