Negril Yacht Club
What ever happened with the Negril Yacht Club? Have many good memories of it and good memories of the people there. Last time I was in Negril, it had just been abandoned.

It has been purchased and will be undergoing restorations which have already started. It used to be the prime hangout in the 70s. Chuck, who managed it for years, is a great guy and still lives in Jamaica. My wife and I hung out there in the early 70s and until it closed. I never stayed there but ate a lot of real good food at their bar. I also miss it as it was a True landmark in the emergence of Negrilas apopular tourist site. They were one of the first places to electricity back in the good old days. I was told it is now under Canadian ownership but that might just be a rumor. Rob Graves probably has all the "poop" on the Yatch Club. He is an autority on Negri;'s history.

So glad to know it's reopening. I just hope the new owners are as great as Chuck. Saw him at his new place in Red Ground (I think that's where it was) on one of my last trips. I hope the old gang will frequent it again. Planning another trip as soon as i get the funds.
