Brasi, Booger and Friends to organize Belly Flop Contest on Monday 4/23/12

    Negril, JAMAICA-It's on.

One boardie's idea (Tatoo?) has turned into reality. And spectators are encouraged. Contestants and judges are being sought for the first annual 'Bellyflop Challenge' to be INFORMALLY/TENTATIVELY held @ the Seastar Inn on Monday 4/23. (approval will be sought from the resort).

    Pre-gaming begins @ 2 pm. The jump-off time? 2:30 pm sharp (Post flop...we can't miss sunset LOL).

(EDITED)Contestants' "flops" will be judged from 1-5 on these criteria:
    1. loudness of their "slap" and 2. distance of their splash. and 3. style (edit)

An overall score for each flop, for example, 3, 5, 3 =11 will be tallied from each judge and the average of that score will be recorded. Rounds 1,2 will consist of 2 jumps per contestant, with the best jump counted in each round. The field will be narrowed in each successive round depending on the number of contestants. Round 3 will feature the Top 3 Floppers, two flops each.

Basic guidelines have been established for flopper's safety: no running, biting, kicking or pulling of hair will be allowed. Contestants must not eat less than one hour prior to going in the pool. LOL

Judges will be required to sit poolside with their feet in the water.

Contestants are asked to donate $100J per entry to the "Buy a Brick" fund. Brasi will donate a $20 bar tab @ Seastar to the winner, who will also get their name engraved on a special placque.

Official venue is subject to change depending upon securing permission (and TV rights).

I would think we're on board, or overboard, with this! Interesting judging criteria. Having grown up around pools and participated in many splash contests I can say that loudness and splash are somewhat at odds. REALLY loud bellywhackers don't usually generate the biggest splashes. Is it overall volume of the splash or height? The good old butt first jackknife is usually best for height of splash but is not very loud and doesn't displace a huge amount of water. Well executed cannonballs or buttercups can displace a lot of water but have the same noise fault... If we're trying to generate a wave that's a whole different conundrum... Hmmmmm... Decisions, decisions...

If I were there... I could make a pretty good sized wave.

For heaven's sake guys---I started a bellyflop contest LOL I am obviously not a rocket scientist... Your intellectual leanings are intimidating me...haha.

Your postulating requires you to show us your flopping, Guirigay!

Booger? YOU are bailing on flopping? WOW. Wimp!

    LOL! What's wrong with judging?

I'm an all in guy, and since I'm not walking around with C cups my odds are greatly stacked against me. All pain no gain. Now I'm sure I'll be numb by then so I might just do it.

    Nice peer pressure.

    Guiriguy anticipated my question.
I was going to ask in AC's (@$$ CRACKERS) counted as a belly flop?

I've been trying convince Mrs. Peel of the necessity of an April trip.
Isn't this like for charity or something.
    That's certainly laudable.
