The bats are our friends. They eat many insects every night. Especially those little blood sucking vampires! They swoop around us as we star gaze at Blue Cave Castle all the tiime. I think we're feeling the air thrust from their wings, not their actual wings. Their sonar is pretty accurate so they can track down and eat their tiny prey.
In the states, close encounters with bats are problematic because of the risk of rabies. However, there are no rabies in Jamaica. That's why it's hard to get a dog into the country without going throuigh a lengthy quarentine.
