How do we make the images larger?

Maybe I'm an idiot but I looked through those threads - and I am totally confused. I resize in Photoshop - so what I'd really need to know is what is the maximum size image I can upload and still get a good sized "pretty" image to display in my posts?
Have you read Mark's screen capture step by step PDF that shows exactly what to do step by step? You can upload large photos and they will show in your post as a thumbnaril (you can click to get a larger pic) or larger in the post itself.
Unless you are using a real high pixel camera there is generally no need to resize your photo, the new board software does it for you.

Trying Again...
OK, I first tried to upload something off Les' "big boy" camera, here's the message I got:
"LZ1_7774.JPG: Upload of file failed."
The file size is 5.78mb
Then I tried to upload something from my point and shoot...
"DSCN5917.JPG: Upload of file failed."
That file size is 3.58mb
What am I doing wrong?
