So sorry about your rough start! That woman sounds very unprofessional! Make sure you alert your credit card so she doesn't try to charge you for the stay since you moved to a different hotel. Glad your luggage arrived! Yay! I agree with the others, shake it off, and don't let one rotten egg spoil your vacation. Enjoy!!

Sorry about the mishap at the airport I can only imagine MY reaction after about 19 hrs travel for my last trip to turn up and be expected to pay someone I neither wanted/needed or asked for NO WAY ,I would have said forward me the email NOW

We've made it home safe and sound, and ended up having a great time! Thank god this this is a long weekend so I can have a mini vacation after my vacation, full trip report to come in the near future!

I would never have paid that $50...sounds like it was a scam because they knew you were first timers! IMO, you should also name the hotel.
