Have done this lots of times for up 2weeks at a time with just enough clothes to pack in my carry-on. Take a couple tank tops, a couple pairs of shorts, 4-5 swimsuits, 3-4 sundresses, a pair of flip-flops, a pair of dressier sandals, snorkeling equip, and Extra-Strength Excedrin. Roll all your clothes tightly and place heavier items (shoes, etc.) in carry-on first, ending with lighter items. I buy other neccessities (mascara, hair products, sunscreen, aloe) in Negril. Have all my clothes washed a couple times while there, which has never been a problem at the places I've stayed. Think I paid $5 a load the last time.

I think this is possible for us. Staying ten nights...three swimsuits, couple of shirts and shorts, four sun dresses, the unmentionables, bathing suit cover-up, sandals. I could wear what I arrived in for leaving, with my flip flops. All that in my carry-on, along with whatever 3 oz. things I can fit. Husband's carry-on much less, swimsuits, five shirts and shorts, unmentionables. Same thing with his arriving and departing clothes. He needs fewer beauty products so I can use his space! LOL!

I'm sure Megamart has all the rest of the stuff I need.

I would bring the same amount for 12 days as 6, just plan on wearing things 2 or 3 times.

I just came back from 18 nights. I wore the same pair of shorts, 3 different swim suits and one sundress. Had sandals on a total of 6 times. You can do it!!

Even though they make 2 gallon size bags....I believe TSA allows one gallon size unless they changed their criteria....

TSA only allows the QUART size bag with liquid products no greater than 3 ounces each. http://www.tsa.gov/311/

The 2 gallon size bags were a suggestion for packing CLOTHING - works much like a space bag. Fold your clothes & place inside. Roll, sit on or compress to squeeze out as much as possible while closing the zip lock on the bag. Clothing stays neat and compact.

    PEACE.

Our first trip we spend 18 days and traveled most of the island changing locations every 2 nights. Practically lived out of our suitcases, lol! We had 2 carryons for 2 adults and 2 kids. They each had backpacks for their personal things including hubby and I had a small cooler I used as a carryon. We had clothes we didn't wear but I did wash as often as I could seeing how we were moving all the time.

Now we go with 3 carryons because of beach towels, snorkel gear (w/flippers for 3), beach pillow, and toys. Still have come home with unworn clothing, lol! Each time we take less clothes.
