Fellow Traveler Issues (UGH!)- Will anyone else be in Negril in August?

Oh JNJLuv2Travel......you sound JUST like me....and trust me, I feel your pain! I really do, you have no idea

I am always the planner too and I know that it means usually I am the one not having fun or let down. It has happened way too many times. After our wedding I told my husband I officially retire from planning anything that involves something for me.....for others no problem, but for me, I am done planning!

I hope it all works out, but I know it will.
Also, you will have to tell us how you like Sea Grape Villas, I have always wanted to check them out too!

Wow I felt the same way after our wedding. Everything turned out amazing but the stress of trying to make everyone else happy was too much at times. Halfway through planning I was so regretful (and even today) that we did not go to Belize and get married like we had planned (we had not discovered Jamaica yet). I was too worried about those who would feel left out and wanted to be sure to include everyone.

I know it will all work out and no matter what Hubs and I will enjoy our time in Negril. Thanks for the kind words and listening/reading. I was a lurker before I joined and you are always so positive, sweet and funny. You seem like loads of fun

Yep! I know exactly what you mean. After our wedding I said, if I had it to do over, it would have just been me and him on the cliffs. I am definitely glad it is over. I regret that I never had any of that, this is fun moment, it was all stress and frustration and at the moment it became fun was when everyone was leaving, and I felt like I didn't get to experience the time with everyone. It was way too much work, but oh well, lesson learned.
So I really do feel for you, any chance you are a Libra? Because I feel we may be kindred spirits! Hahaha
My birthday is October 13

Anyways, I know you will have a blast because no matter what happens, I have had fun on every single one of my trips to Negril.

If it gets too much, then just find another place more in your price range, and go with you and hubby alone. Then hit up some of the webcasts and you will have no problem making friends. Or go on the one love pub crawl.....there are usually always good fun people in Negril to meet and hang with

Well if people can't get their ish together then I would just plan on you and hubby. If they choose to go then they can book and go there own way. The longer you wait then maybe harder to switch. Maybe tell them you want the $$ in 2 weeks time or that you will have to go on your own. Can't believe people are such flakes. Have a wonderful trip even if you have to stay elsewhere and just the two of you.

That is where it is going Angel. I am thinking of what I will say. I just know that whatever I do they will be upset with me so at this point I just need to protect us and our $$$ and figure out what we are going to do. It is hard to believe things work out like this but it is definitely not the first time so it is even harder for me to believe I have continued to make plans around them. I truly LOVE my friends but not everyone is a good travel partner. I enjoy the time with them but sometimes the other issues are just too much.

I am going to try Hidden Paradise that BreanaAshlee suggested and see if they have those dates available. That will probably be our only option. It seems that everything else is booked due to ATI.

But thank you. I need to be more firm. I am normally a take NO ISH person but with family and friends I can sometimes feel like a doormat.

we also in the past have traveled with friends?......found out best way is each couple book themselves, all on same flight, hotel,with villa....... advise owner ahead that each will send a deposit and each is responsible for their account...........

I am a Leo. It seems we are quite compatible. Other than the fact they keep using the word MASCULINE to describe me this is pretty cool! haha

Rambo- in hindsight I agree. It is a little too late this trip but I have learned my lesson. If we do move to another location they will be booking themselves.

I was about to book at Seagrape Villas for upcoming trip. Looks really nice and private. Sorry your having a bad time with the traveling buds. Wish you were going to be there next month, but maybe we will catch you next time. Sounds like ya'll are fun. Try and not stress, it will all come together.
