im looking to come down for quick trip in june - but will have to be very frugal to make it happen..
i am looking for inexpensive options - needs to be safe and clean - dont need cable - a/c i believe is out of my range - want to spend as little as possible but as high as $50? is this possible?

White Sands or Green Leaf Cabins are both great options. I am partial to Green Leaf 'cause my friend Jenny runs the place and they are so nice. Plus they have really cheap options - depends if you require hot water shower or not.

i second JahB's.
Its safe, clean and comfortable, you get a fridge, an oscillating fan (you wont need a/c) and a tv if you want, PLUS, you have Step Aside roadside chicken right there, as well as a little shop across the road at Roots Bamboo where you can get great food (a 2 piece fried chicken meal with rice n peas and macaroni salad in a boxlunch) for 200J, and a Red Stripe for 140J
No A/C in June - I don't know about that. Maybe directly on beach or cliffside with a breeze - but across the road...
I just know I'd be miserable trying to sleep without it.
