Jamaican Zipline Adventure
Has anyone tried the Zipline Adventure? Sounds pretty exciting from some things I've read, but hoping to hear from someone here. Thanks, everyone on this site is always so helpful and full of great info.!

Are you referring to the one in Lethe? If so, I went on that one & did trip reports. The following 2 links are to my reports. First one is the narrative, second one, the pictures. It was amazing!

That's the place, thanks so much for the great review Yvonne. That must have been hilarious seeing you hanging there! I guess my biggest concern is that first feeling of flying off the platform. You know, stomach in your throat! I'm not real good with heights so not too sure if I want to try this. Did you notice that same fear with others in your party? Do you control your speed in any way? Thanks again!

Yes, I was quite the source of much laughter that day. I don't have a fear of heights. I'm one to lean over the barriers at the Grand Canyon as far as possible, LOL. I have to admit that I was a bit apprehensive on the first zip. After doing the first one, I couldn't wait to do more. Nobody in the group seemed afraid. I believe there are things you can do w/ your legs to slow you a bit. Mostly it's a weight thing though. I know I tried to make myself go faster by pulling my legs in (knees to chest) to consolidate my weight. It really is one of the most fun things I've ever done. Now I weigh even less so I'd probably have to cozy up w/ one of the guides to do the ziplines or I'd be hanging way out of reach. When will you be in JA to do this?

We leave on the 21st of this month for seven nights. I'm really looking forward to the zipline and not afraid of the speed really, it's just that if there's any long drop like on a roller coaste,r I have a tough time with it. I really want to thank you again for being so informative, it helps a lot.
In reading your review and the other emails, I take it you did this a few years ago. I wonder if reservations are necessary.

They were new in 2008 when I went in June (my usual Negril time). Yes, it's best to reserve. I think they do runs only a few times a day & they don't overload each group or it takes too long. They may have more staff &/or a different system now but I'd still reserve to be on the safe side. I think we reserved 3 days in advance, more for our convenience & planning than anything else. I would think it's even more important to reserve now that it's a well established attraction & they seemed to get most of their bookings from cruise ship passengers from MoBay. No cruise ship in port, you're probably OK. You still need to know when they start the runs. You don't want to show up at 11:30 to find out the next run is at 2 p.m. & is fully booked. Glad I could be of help.
