They were new in 2008 when I went in June (my usual Negril time). Yes, it's best to reserve. I think they do runs only a few times a day & they don't overload each group or it takes too long. They may have more staff &/or a different system now but I'd still reserve to be on the safe side. I think we reserved 3 days in advance, more for our convenience & planning than anything else. I would think it's even more important to reserve now that it's a well established attraction & they seemed to get most of their bookings from cruise ship passengers from MoBay. No cruise ship in port, you're probably OK. You still need to know when they start the runs. You don't want to show up at 11:30 to find out the next run is at 2 p.m. & is fully booked.
