Thanks so much. He is still hoping he won't need it and will be better. So we shouldn't have a problem getting a wheelchair once we are at the airport. Is that correct? I don't think we will need crutches. He can hobble to his beach chair and hopefully hobble to the water too. We will definitely need help with the luggage (3 cases) if he can't walk and will tip appropriately. The last outbreak only took 2 days to totally recover so I'm hoping it won't last much longer.

Where you fly out of in the US it should be no problem to get a wheelchair to take you to the plane boarding area. Jamaica can be a little more difficult as the wheelchairs are not usually at the gate. You may have to wait until someone is summoned to bring you one or.... tell the Ticket Agent where you check in that you will require a wheelchair on your arrival in Jamaica. That way, a chair will be waiting just outside the door of the plane.

One other thing. You probably will have to have the wheelchair helper take you up or down a floor or (possibly) both ways from the gate to Immigration/Customs. If you do, that is when you should slip him/her the $20 tip and thank them for all your help. They don't want to be seen accepting a tip so keeping it on the QT is best.
