First Timer Just Got Back Home

Hey, all! Just wanted to let everyone know that we just got back from our first trip in Negril. We had a great time, and hope to go back. Unfortunately, we have constraints of vacation time and money to deal with. I really just wanted to state my appreciation for this board and everyone that participates. I found when I talked to some others that were Negril "regulars", that I knew even more about some things Negril-related than them. I, of course, did a ton of research before I went, but still I was surprised to find out that I knew more about anything along those lines than people that had come 2-3 times per year for a decade. So, thanks to everyone for all the help. I'm not going to post a trip report, because I am so long-winded with those types of things. If anyone has any questions for me, I would be happy to answer, though.

No such thing as long winded and trip report together.

I have the same feelings. I know I tend to rattle so I may never write a trip report. I guess we will see after our next trip. I do have to say that I think a lot of us appreciate all trip reports and love to see things through the eyes of others. No pressure though.

So where did you stay and what was your favorite part of the trip?

You're not going to bore anyone on this board with a long-winded trip report. It's what we live for!

We stayed at Idle Awhile. I was thinking if we went back that we might try somewhere different. Everything was so great at Idle Awhile, though, that we will most likely just stay there.

My favorite part of the trip? That is a tough one, and I had to think for a minute, but I guess I would say meeting and conversing with our driver, Kenny. He really went above and beyond just being a driver. Really nice guy. I highly recommend him.

Maybe a trip report later, if I can carve out some time to write.

Hey Ryan--what room did you stay in at Idle Awhile? How was the beach setup there as far as roominess anand places to lounge and such?

We stayed in 203. You can just barely see through the gardens to the beach and the water. It was second floor, of course. You may be able to watch the sunset from the unit below us. It is a pretty narrow opening through the gardens, so I'm not positive of that. I thought there was plenty of room on the beach. There's also plenty of tree cover if you prefer the shade. It seemed that the beach got more narrow as we walked toward town from our hotel. It was fine where we were, though. They have umbrellas at Idle Awhile, too. Hope that answers your question.

Is 203 an oceanfront room? How was the noise at night? We stayed at Idle Awhile in December (our first time to Jamaica) and the only problem we had were 2 nights of really loud music, so loud we could not sleep. We were wondering if the oceanfront rooms were quieter. Other than than we loved this resort and Negril.
