Question about Jamaican visiting Canada
Assuming that a Jamaican arives in Canada for a visit is there any paperwork required upon entry at this end or is it now totally in the hands of the immigration officer?

A visa has to be obtained before travelling to Canada - here is link that provides information of the application process.

The invitation letter is part of the application to obtain a visa. See following link:

Oops - just realized I did not answer your question. When arriving in Canada, procedure is very much the same as when we as tourists arrive in JA. The airline will give the passenger the forms to fill out prior to their arrival in Canada (sample attached) which has to be presented to the Customs Officer upon arrival together with passport (the visa granted by the Canadian consulate in JA will be noted by way of a stamp in the travellers JA passport. The Canadian customs officer may ask additional questions such as "what is the hotel or address where you will be staying in Canada".
