    Two Weeks In August

Well, from the 10th to the 18th will be with my friend Lori at Grand Pineapple, and then will be staying two weeks by myself after she leaves. I was thinking of Hidden Paradise, got a great deal, for $55 a night, then for every seven nights I stay I pay for six, which would make a 14 night stay only $660, which is a great price, and I hear a lot of good things about it.

Even though I have stayed mostly on the cliffs, I have really been more of a beach person I have realized after I went through all the days I have stayed there in my head (more than once too, lol!) that most of them have been swimming up and down the Long Bay beach at Negril, and have come to realize that I never stayed at the beach except for one time across from the beach at Coral Seas Garden for a few days which was nice but that even when I stayed on the cliffs I spent more days on the beach than cliffs, so why not just stay on the beach as long as I can and then just go up to the cliffs for some chill time if I did end up at a burnout point on the beach..but you know..I really don't think I will get there. I do love the cliffs, but have come to realize that the beach is where I want to be at. I have decided to make this next trip all about the beach for real, and see if do end up getting tired of it all and wanting something different or if I am indeed as much of a true blue "negrilaholic" as I think I might really be. 8)

So anyway, was considering all my options, and have decided to definitely make all of my next 22 day trip on or right by the beach of Negril for my stay, and while Hidden Paradise is my top option, after looking at some online sites I realized it shouldn't be my only one at this time, and there are a few other serious contenders to add to the list, because I have found I can get a room at Travellers for only $46 a night and one at Shields for only $51 a night, and have always thought about staying at either.

All I ask for is a working air conditioner, a comfortable bed, and a tv that gets decent reception, and everything after that is gravy, but those are my requirements, they are not for everyone, they are special to me, and the ac definitely holds true since I will be there in August, and I remember my trips in August one time and once in July and it gets MUGGY in the summer that's for sure! Anyway, while it was very pleasant when I was there last, I find myself actually looking forward to the heat because I know it will still be warm enough to get my night swim on too, whereas it was a bit too chilly to do that a few times during my last visit.

I am seriously considering those because it would be really nice to spend time right ON the beach itself if it's something I can afford to do and the place would be a good one. I do know that the food is only so/so at Travellers already, had a few breakfasts there that were pretty good, but the one fish dinner I had there was beyond abysmal, so I am already aware of that but it wouldn't really have much sway in whether or not to stay there; I do enjoy the atmosphere there and get a kick out of their karoake nights, but the main thing is the condition of the room where I'm concerned in taking things into consideration.

Any feedback on Hidden Paradise vs Travellers or Shields would be appreciated. Don't think I will be able to find any other places giving me air conditioned rooms on the beach for about $55 a night..

I here you about the AC..its kind of must that time of year...being the low season (after ATI of course) you should be able to even negotiate better rates-if you contact them yourself and see what they would do for you...Isnt it nice when you find your right "vibe" in Negril -be it cliffs or beach..and as you know the cliffs are just a short route taxi away....

I still can't make up my mind between the two, lol! It's either $700 for Travellers or $660 for Hidden Paradise..and am also waiting to hear back on offers made at Summerset and Villa LaCage and am even thinking Xtabi because some of the rates are cheap..trying to find a place that is $500 or less for two weeks with ac, mini fridge, tv, and pool...but if I'm paying more than that, want it right on or by the sea..

Yes, but it's over $700 for two weeks, and I told myself I wouldn't go over that amount since I do have a few options that are at that price or under, but Seastar is a lovely place to stay, especially if they offer free transport to the beach and back everyday.

Okay, here's the very short list of considerations: Villa LaCage, Travellers, Xtabi, Summerset, Hidden Paradise.

Waiting to hear back from Villa LaCage, might be able to get a room with kitchenette for a decent price, a step above just a minifridge for sure, so will keep my fingers crossed they accept my offer..they have rate with kitchenette 40,000J a month and if they take my offer of a monthly rate price for the two weeks I will be there I do believe I will jump on it.

Well, it's official. After weighing all my options, am going for the room with the kitchenette at VillaLaCage for $480.
