What is worse than Post Negril Syndrome? The excitement of Pre-Negril Syndrome and Post Negril Syndrome without the magical time in between.

It happened. After my last post I tried really hard to stay positive and we were bending over backwards to try and keep people from flaking but it just wasn't good enough. Our trip for my 30th bday in August has been cancelled.

I feel almost pathetic that I am so devastated over this but there is nothing I want more right now than to be in Negril. I am sad, disappointed and mad that others lack of planning and selfishness has put us in this situation.

What makes me even more mad is that if we had known for sure they would cancel we could have put our travel funds into joining everyone for the boardie bash. I know we would have met some really amazing people that are much like us and most importantly LOVE NEGRIL the way we do.

I don't know when we will make it back in the meantime but I know one thing, we WILL be there for the boardie bash NEXT YEAR.

Keep up the awesome trip reports! Although I am super jelly to have missed it, I look forward to reading the wonderful details and seeing the pictures. We have some very talented writers and photographers on this board.

Yeooowuch! Your pain is duly noted...But take heart...I saw an 8 day 7 night Seastar getaway for two at $359.00, including breakfast, admission to the Saturday live show and munch and RT from Mo'Bay to Negril on Livingsocial.com earlier today... It was this year May thru October or next year May thru October....Keep hope alive,lol!

Just do what I did and go solo..u and hubby...it was the best decision I've made and met some amazing people.I'm going solo again in December because of this group...love them:-) Come on folks you can do it...:-)

Smokin Kevan - Thanks for the suggestion. I have been watching the specials lately and I am crossing my fingers that maybe we can get some time away soon.

We were planning to stay at Sea Grape Villas. My husband paid the deposit for the most expensive villa which without other guests is just more than we are willing to spend considering we will be paying for all of our own food, drinks (this will add up quickly for us), cab fare, airport transfer, entertainment, excursions, etc.,etc.

The real problem is our stay was to be during ATI. Normally it wouldn't have been a prob to find somewhere else to stay but that is the worst week to try and find other accomodations. I tried and unfortunately we are SOL. Believe me, if we could go just the 2 of us I would in a heartbeat. The others don't share our deep love/obsession with Negril anyway (clearly). Plus I would really LOVE the alone time with my Hubs.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear about this. I would be heartbroken. Jim and I also had a group vacation going, but alass, it was just Jim and I in the end, and it was still great.

DUDE. I'm bummed to hear this. But keep your eyes and ears open you never know what might open up! Really can't imagine how disappointed you are (well i really just dont want to try lol)....but if you two are planning on next year for the boardie bash, that will be out of control. Hope you do because I'm most def. gonna go again and I've been hoping to cross paths with ya'll. It will be a good time that's a given. Also, a lot of people are going end of Dec through the new year....wink wink
