It was so great to meet Misti. Probably the biggest disappointment of this trip was not getting the chance to really hang out longer and have a real conversation with you. The bash was so hectic and I was rolling on a train by that point. Makes me happy, though, to know that our paths are nearly certain to cross again. I expected to be impressed by you and you know how often these things were exceeded that week...
I'll combine a couple of cliches in response your wonderfully cryptic post which I have a section of the key to -

What's so funny 'bout Peace, Love and Understanding?
ok laughing so much nearly in hysterics here--at a Starbucks using wifi and I am convinced everyone thinks I am nuts. The surgery on Clarity with the men looking on with rapt expressions was just wonderfully classic and insane at the same time. So many wonderful and hilarious moments--and somehow between reading everyone's reports and checking all of the photos I am getting some ideas of the glory that went down--but there are still holes and gaps despite all the awesome reportage. But trip report jumping is good stuff. Thanks Booger et al for sharing--wish I wasn't doing the vicarious adventure but it is way better than none at all. And you are great entertainersCarry on!
Booger I KNOW I would enjoy the group--I am so there in spirit, fun, mellowness and craziness. Let's hope my future lend itself to that plan.
So bye bye Catcha and hello Country Country. Like I said before I was sad to leave Catcha as this is where home is for us in Negril. However the beach would end up not a complete bust, if that could actually happen anyways. We ended up with a top floor room towards the front of the property near the road. It was my understanding that the premium rooms were closer to the beach, but this proved not to be the case. The room needed some serious love, the bed was freaking rock hard, and well it just wasn't Catcha. Good thing the staff is great and as it would turn out I actually would settle in quite well.
Each morning Sandie would sleep in and I would set sail down the beach taking in all the action. One morning I grew restless and walked all the way down to the produce fair located by the roundabout. It was nice to see Patty and friends hanging out in front of Fun Holiday, and as it would turn out it would be the last time I would see them, well at least until our next reach. Miss all of you guys and the fun you bring to the party. I walked around the perimeter of the produce fair and a local called out to me. I told him I was good and tried to continue my way to the street. Than he pops off that it's ok to talk to the locals and that I should come in and check it out. It's OK to talk to the locals? WTF? Did I really look like I had just hit Negril for the first time? Later funny guy and soon enough I was on the beach road walking back. It was HOT HOT HOT and many times I considered just hoping in a route taxi and taking the easy way back. But this day I was determined to make the walk back and a water stop here and there was all it took. It was nice though as when you are in a taxi you cannot really take it all in. I saw all sorts of little places, bars, food stops, what have you that I had never noticed before. Soon enough I was back at Country Country and Sandie was just setting out to look for me. That woman can sleep the entire day if she wants to. Not me, I can sleep when I get home and when I'm dead.
Rewind a bit back to Thursday as this was Gonjon's bday. This day would turn out to be a killer day and a lot of details are a little sketchy as we partied like it might be his last. I had set up with Vincent that morning to take us on a sunset cruise along the West End so we could take in the sights from the water side. As the time grew closer it appeared that the rain might just wash everything out and cancel our trip. But right about the time he was to pick us up the clouds opened up and allowed some sunshine in. We loaded up and I asked Vincent if he could just drop us off at Canoe instead. Things were a little rocky and I wanted to make sure we could catch the webcast with the steel drums.
Now taking a water taxi is MUCH better than hoping in a route taxi. It is also spendy, but worth every penny as far as I'm concerned. It is Gonjon's bday and it was with Vincent and I look forward to doing it again.
If you have not spent time with Vincent I highly encourage you too. He loves to laugh and entertain his guest. A little into our journey Gonjon decided he had to drive.
The party was in full swing on the boat and soon enough we were pulling up to Canoe.
It did rain a little but since Vincent's boat is covered all was good. We made our entrance and only a few boardies were in the house at this time. That would soon change as the party was just getting started.......
